An old agricultural term for ploughing. Thus, in Isaiah 30:24, it is said, "The oxen also, and the young asses which ear," that is, "plough, the ground." So also in Genesis 45:6; Exodus 34:21; Deuteronomy 21:4; 1 Samuel 8:12.
