JESSE
Son of Obed and father of David. He was a grandson of Ruth the Moabitess, and in he native land he found an asylum while David was most in danger from the jealous pursuit of Saul, Ruth 4:17; 1 Samuel 1:16-23; 1 Samuel 1:17; 1 Samuel 1:22; Matthew 1:5.
