LAMB

The young of the sheep, and also the kid of the goat, Exodus 12:5, Christ is the Lamb of God, John 1:29, as being the accepted sacrifice for human sin. The sacrifices of the Old Testament were an ordained and perpetual foreshadowing not only of his spotless holiness and his unresisting meekness, Isaiah 1:53-9. He is described in Revelation 5:6Revelation 1:12, as wearing the form of a sacrificial lamb in heaven itself. See Passover and Sacrifice.
