SALCHAH
A city of Bashan, conquered by the Jews and assigned to Manasseh, Deuteronomy 3:10 Joshua 12:5; Joshua 1:13. It was near the border of Gad, 1 Chronicles 5:11, and where the boundary line between the two tribes ran out farthest into the desert. A town called Salchat still exists there, on the southeast border of the modern Hauran.
