Passalorynchites A branch of the Montanists. They held, that in order to be saved, it was necessary to observe a perpetual silence; wherefore they kept their finger constantly on their mouth, and dared not open it, even to say their prayers. Their name is derived from the Greek, a nail, and a nostril, because, when they put their finger to their mouth, they touched their nose.
