2 Chroniques 27:5

He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third.

Il combattit aussi avec le roi des Ammonites. Cette invasion, non seulement repoussa, mais, poursuivant les Ammonites dans leur propre territoire, leur imposa un tribut annuel, qu'ils ont payé pendant deux ans; mais lorsque Rezin, roi de Syrie, et Péka, roi d'Israël, se sont associés pour attaquer le royaume de Juda, ils ont saisi l'occasion de se révolter, et Jotham était trop distrait par d'autres questions pour tenter la reconquête (voir la note à 2 Rois 15:37).
