And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.

Esther parla encore une fois devant le roi et tomba à ses pieds. Le roi n'était alors pas allongé à table, mais assis sur un divan, très probablement dans le Attitude persane, adossée aux coussins et un pied sous lui.

Je l'ai demandé avec des larmes pour mettre de côté le méfait d'Haman - i: e., d'abroger l'édit sanguinaire qui, à l'instigation secrète d'Haman, avait été récemment réussi (Esther 3:12).
