21-31 What God gives us, he designs we should do good with. In distributing the spoil, David was just and kind. Those are men of Belial indeed, who delight in putting hardships upon their brethren, and care not who is starved, so that they may be fed to the full. David was generous and kind to all his friends. Verse 1 Samuel 30:27. _TO_ THEM _WHICH_ WERE _IN BETH-EL_] This was in the tribe of Ephraim. _SOUTH RAMOTH_] So called to distinguish it from _Ramoth Gilead_, beyond Jordan. This _Ramoth_ belonged to the tribe of _Simeon_, Joshua 19:8. _IN JATTIR_] Supposed by Calmet to be the same as _Ether_, Joshua 15:42, but more probably _Jattir_, Joshua 15:48. It was situated in the mountains, and belonged to _Judah_....
