Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee - i:e., for thy proceeding to punish the enemy (Isaiah 26:9) (Maurer). Horsley translates Isaiah 26:7, 'The path of the Just One is perfectly even: an even road thou wilt level for the Just One, even the path of thy laws, O Yahweh. We have expected thee.' I prefer, with the English version, to refer "the just" to the restored remnant of the Jews.

The desire of (our) soul (is) to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee - the manifested character of God by which He would be remembered (; ).
