This may refer to the siege of Jerusalem under Titus, when 1,100,000 are said to have perished by famine: thus will refer to God's people, without distinction of Jew and Gentile receiving 'another name'-namely, that of Christians (Houbigant). A further fulfillment may still remain, just before the creation of the 'new heavens and earth,' as the context, , implies.
