Proverbs 11:11

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted. This gives a reason why, "when it, goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth." God blesses the city for the sake of the righteous or upright in it who intercede for it (; ; ).

But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked - namely, by their bad counsels, false testimonies, blasphemies, calumnies ().
