And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Book. A B 'Aleph ('), Vulgate, Syriac, Coptic, read, 'take away his part (i:e., portion) from the tree of life;'

i.e., exclude him from the tree of life.

And from the things. So Vulgate; but A B 'Aleph ('), Syriac, Coptic, Andreas, omit "and:" then, "which are written in this book" refers to 'the holy city and the tree of life.' As in the beginning (), a blessing was promised to the obedient student, so now, at the close, a curse is denounced against those who add to or take from the book.
