Therefore fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord, neither be dismayed, be filled with terror, O Israel, the cheering admonition being addressed to all believers; for, lo, I will save thee from afar and thy seed from the land of their captivity, the redemption of the world being spoken of under the picture of the deliverance from the Babylonian bondage; and Jacob shall return and shall be in rest and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid, the security of the children of God thus being emphasized.
