Ἰούδας ὁ Ἰσκ. S. Mark (Mark 14:4) says, quite indefinitely, τινες; S. Matthew (Matthew 26:8), οἱ μαθηταί. Each probably states just what he knew; S. Mark that the remark was made; S. Matthew that it came from the group of disciples; S. John that Judas made it, and why he made it. S. John was perhaps anxious that the unworthy grumbling should be assigned to the right person.
