22 May the Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit, to strengthen thee in all difficulties and dangers, as He hath strengthened me, (2 Timothy 4:17). Grace be with you in Ephesus who maintain the truth. Amen.

Comment 4:22

2 Timothy 4:22. Here are the last words of the great Apostle. If Timothy could be constantly aware of Christ's approval or disapproval of his words and works, then Paul's prayer for him would be answered. If Christ is with our inward man, all is well.

The desire for all of heaven's favor upon not only Timothy, but all the saints in the Ephesian church, is a fitting conclusion to an unselfish Christ-centered life.
