Isa. 52:15. "The kings shall shut," etc. - i.e. they shall be silent, attending to His wonderful doctrine and instructions as it follows, "for that which had not been told them," etc. They shall shut their mouths as learners, in acknowledgment of His superior wisdom, and as a testimony of their desirousness to hear and learn, as Job says, chap. Job 29:21; Job 29:22. They shall be silent also in token of their admiration [= wonder.]
