Isa. 53:11. "By His knowledge." The word for 'knowledge' here is very often used for 'righteousness,' 'holiness,' and 'piety.' See Job 21:22; Job 33:3; Job 36:12; Psalms 119:66; Proverbs 1:4; Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 1:22; Proverbs 1:29; Proverbs 2:5; Proverbs 2:6; Proverbs 2:10; and Job 5:2; Job 8:9; Job 8:10; Job 9:10; Job 10:14; Job 11:9; Job 12:1; and Job 13:15; Job 13:16; Job 14:7; Job 14:18; Job 15:7; Job 15:14; Job 18:15; Job 19:25; Job 19:27; Job 20:15; Job 21:11; Job 22:12; Job 23:12; Job 24:5; Job 30:3; Ecclesiastes 2:21; Ecclesiastes 7:12; Isaiah 5:13; Isaiah 11:2; Isaiah 28:9; Isaiah 33:6; Jeremiah 3:15; Jeremiah 22:16; Hosea 4:1; Hosea 4:6; Hosea 6:6. Besides, many places where the verb this noun comes from, is used in an agreeable sense, concerning which I have not examined the Concordance; and other words of like signification. But Isaiah 42:19-21, is particularly worthy of observation.
