Priests ate from the offerings (see Leviticus 6:17; Leviticus 7:32). The altar is like “the table of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 10:21). In both instances the benefits of the table belonged to the priests, for believers in Christ are priests (1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6).
