2 SAMUEL—NOTE ON 2 Samuel 9:11 Mephibosheth ate at David’s table, like one of the king’s sons. The arrangement is similar to that for David’s older sons. Though they “ate at David’s table,” some of them lived in their own houses in Jerusalem (2 Samuel 13:7, 2 Samuel 13:20) and had fields and farmlands of their own (2 Samuel 13:23; 2 Samuel 14:30).
