Hebrews 7:12), since it was not able to accomplish God’s saving purpose (hence its weakness and uselessness). Only Jesus’ work on the cross brought people to perfection (see v. Hebrews 7:11; also Hebrews 9:9; Hebrews 10:1). better hope. That is, the hope of salvation and perfection through Jesus’ high priesthood (Hebrews 7:25). draw near to God. Jesus’ work permits true fellowship with God.
