PROVERBS—NOTE ON Proverbs 15:25 These proverbs begin and end with a contrast: the LORD opposes the proud (v. Proverbs 15:25) but is near those who act in humility that comes from the fear of the LORD (v. Proverbs 15:33). Verses Proverbs 15:24 expand on this by illustrating the pride of the wicked and the humility of the righteous. At the center of this section is the reminder that the Lord is far from the wicked but hears the prayer of the righteous (v. Proverbs 15:29).
