Psalms 112:1-10

Psalm PSALM—NOTE ON Psalms 112:1. This wisdom psalm joins Psalms 1:1; Psalms 37:1; Psalms 49:1; Psalms 73:1; Psalms 127:1; Psalms 128:1 (with Psalms 34:11) in making themes from the Wisdom Literature the topic of prayer, praise, and instruction in worship. Psalms 112:1 is also a companion to Psalms 111:1 (see note on Psalm 111). This psalm focuses on the moral character of the faithful, and on the benefits such people bring to themselves and to others.
