ἐπὶ τοῖς κραββάτοις, upon their beds, vide Mark 2:4. περιφέρειν, to carry about from place to place. If they did not find Jesus at one place, they were not discouraged, but carried their sick to another place where He was likely to be. Their energy, not less than the word κραββάτοις, recalls the story in Mark 2:1-12. ὅπου ἤκουον ὅτι ἔστιν, not: wherever He was = ὅπου ἦν, but: wherever they were told He was; ἐστιν, present, from the point of view of those who gave the information in indirect discourse.
