καιρὸς : not merely the season of the year, but the time at which the new vines might be expected to bear. τοὺς καρποὺς : the whole, apparently implying a money rent. The mode of tenure probably not thought of by this evangelist. αὐτοῦ should probably be referred to the owner, not to the vineyard = “his fruits,” as in A. V [118]
