A preponderance of ancient and diversified witnesses (a A D* F G P 048 33 81 1739 1881 al) supports avdelfh|/. Furthermore, from a transcriptional point of view, it is more likely that avgaphth|/ was introduced (in D2 Y and most minuscules) in conformity with the preceding avgaphtw|/ (ver. Philemon 1:1) than that avdelfh|/ was substituted in order to avoid repetition. A few copyists present both words (629 itar, b syrh).
