He might have learned these circumstances from some of the crowd, much people accompanying the widow, but He doubtless knew them of Himself. Such knowledge befits One who wrought such a miracle. Indeed the meeting was not accidental but providential, and foreknown by our Lord Himself. There is no reason why He should have gone so far from Capernaum, and rapidly, as it would seem, unless it were to meet this funeral procession.
