Defiled, or ‘common.' Comp. Acts 10:14-15.

That is unwashen hands. This explanation shows that the Gospel was written for Gentile readers. The clause: ‘they found fault,' is to be omitted, the construction is broken by the explanation of Mark 7:3-4.
