God will deny His grace to those who have long received it in vain. The curse of barrenness is the punishment of the sin of barrenness.

Striking Facts: Isaiah 5:4. Some believe Christ thought these words when He beheld Jerusalem and wept over it (Luke 19:41), and had reference to it in the parable of the vineyard. Matthew 21:33.
