Godliness.

1. qeosebeia, 'worship or reverence of God,' 'reverential fear of God.' 1 Timothy 2:10. The same word is used in the LXX for 'the fear of God' in Genesis 20:11, and for 'the fear of the Lord' in Job 28:28.

2. eusebeia, from 'to worship well,' hence piety towards God. The word 'piety' seems to suit all the passages where the Greek word occurs. Acts 3:12; 1 Timothy 1:2; 1 Timothy 1:3; 1 Timothy 1:4, 1 Timothy 1:4; 1 Timothy 1:6, 1 Timothy 1:6, 1 Timothy 1:6, 1 Timothy 1:6; 2 Timothy 1:3; Titus 1:1; 2 Peter 1:1, 2 Peter 1:1, 2 Peter 1:1; 2 Peter 1:3.
