Deaconess Romans 16:1, Romans 1:16, Romans 1:16; Philippians 4:2, Philippians 1:4; 1 Timothy 3:11; 1 Timothy 1:5, 1 Timothy 1:5; Titus 2:3, Titus 1:2). In these passages it is evident that females were then engaged in various Christian ministrations. Pliny makes mention of them also in his letter to Trajan (A.D. 110).
