Heber (1) EBER means "beyond."
1.The father of Peleg and ancestor of Abraham (Genesis 10:24; Genesis 10:25); marking that Arphaxad's descendants were now crossing over or beyond the great rivers on their way to Mesopotamia and thence to Canaan. In Luke 3:35, Heber equates to Eber.
