Translate: And along the front of them - like (literally as the appearance of) the chambers which were toward the north, as long as they and as broad as they, and (like) all their goings out, and like their fashions, and like their doors, even so were the doors of the chambers which were toward the south; (with) a door at the head of the way, the way of the wall adjoined eastward as one entereth into them (the chambers)....

AND ACCORDING TO THE DOORS OF THE CHAMBERS THAT WERE TOWARD THE SOUTH,.... On the northern (Ezekiel 42:1) and southern (Ezekiel 42:10) sides of the inner court and facing the Temple were two blocks of three-story buildings used as refectories (Ezekiel 42:13) and dressing rooms (Ezekiel 42:14; cf. Ezekiel 44:19) for the priests....

The chambers in the inner court. In the inner court on the two sides N. and S. of the house or temple proper were erected blocks of cells for the use of the priests, where they ate the holy things and deposited their sacred garments. They are those referred to Ezekiel 41:10. The block on the N. side is fully described (Ezekiel 42:1), and that on the S. of the house is said to be similar in all respects (Ezekiel 42:10). The block on the N. extended from the "separate place" to the N. wall of the inner court, a breadth of 50 cubits, all the space available.
