He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him. HE THAT BLESSETH HIS FRIEND WITH A LOUD VOICE (WITH GRANDILOQUENT WORDS AND LOUD EMPHASIS), RISING EARLY IN THE MORNING IT SHALL BE COUNTED A CURSE TO HIM - it shall be counted to the flatterer all the same as if he cursed his friend (cf. ). "Early in the morning" implies the affected assiduity of the flatterer (; Jeremiah 25:3). The exaggerated praise and compliment engender suspicion of sinister motives....
