Believers, by the power of grace, are brought up from the wilderness. Verse Song of Solomon 8:7. _MANY WATERS_] Neither common nor uncommon _adversities_, even of the most _ruinous_ nature, can destroy love when it is _pure_; and _pure love_ is such that nothing can _procure_ it. If it be not excited naturally, no money can purchase it, no property can procure it, no arts can persuade it. CHAPTER 8 The last chapter of the Song is a review of the whole. There is unquestionably a recapitulation of the entire book. The bride's desires are once more given to be loved and caressed by Him. THE POWER OF LOVE. The verses from Song of Solomon 8:5 to the end of the book are difficult to weave into a connected whole, and perhaps we have here a series of lyrical fragments. Song of Solomon 8:5-7. The Return in the Might of Love The scene depicted in these verses is the return of the Shulammite with her lover to the village. As they draw near she leans upon him in weariness, and they are observed by some of the villagers, who ask the question in Song of Solomon 8:5 _a_.
