Magiciens - proprement, «des scribes sacrés, habiles dans les écrits sacrés, une classe de prêtres égyptiens» (Gesenius); [ charTumiym (H2748), depuis une racine hébraïque, chereT (H2747), un stylo]. Le mot dans notre version anglaise, "magicians", vient de Mag, c'est-à-dire "un prêtre". Les mages formaient l'une des six divisions des Mèdes.
