unto the feast These words have become transposed; they belong to the first clause, not to the second; Now when His brethren were gone up to the feast, then He also went up. This being so, it becomes possible, if not probable, that Christ's declaration -I go not up to this Feast" is true, even when made to mean -I shall not go up at all." All that is certain is that Christ appeared when the Feast was half over (John 7:14).
