On the other hand, transcriptional probability seems to favor the originality of the reading without w`j (a D ita, b, d, e, r1 syrc, s copsa, boms, ach2, fay geo Cyril), since a copyist may have inserted the word in order to soften the force of the expression evn kruptw|/. In order to represent the balance, a majority of the Committee preferred to retain the word in the text but to enclose it within square brackets to indicate doubt that it has a right to stand there.
