EZEKIEL—NOTE ON Ezekiel 12:8 The explanation of the symbolic actions has both a broad and a narrow application. Verse Ezekiel 12:10 targets the prince in Jerusalem—a reference to Zedekiah, whom Ezekiel refuses to refer to as “king.” The rest of v. Ezekiel 12:10 and the plural references of v. Ezekiel 12:11 broaden the scope to the remaining Judeans. Verses Ezekiel 12:12 detail the fate of Zedekiah as recorded in 2 Kings 25:1. Still, this remains a sign for you (plural, Ezekiel 12:11), that is, for Ezekiel’s fellow exiles.
