Proverbs 10:12

PROVERBS—NOTE ON Proverbs 10:12 The wicked are described as concealing violence (vv. Proverbs 10:6, Proverbs 10:11) or hatred (vv. Proverbs 10:12, Proverbs 10:18). They deceive others for their own sinful purposes. The one who is wise seeks the good of others even when he or she is the offended party: love covers all offenses (the Hebrew verb translated here as “covers” is translated “conceal” in vv. Proverbs 10:6, Proverbs 10:11, Proverbs 10:18). Compare Matthew 5:44; 1 Peter 4:8.
