Psalm PSALM—NOTE ON Psalms 16:1. When the faithful sing Psalms 16:1, they entrust themselves to the Lord. They experience confidence and contentment in his care. The psalm uses imagery from Israel’s allocation of the land under Joshua (vv. Psalms 16:5) to express contentment in this life. It also looks forward to everlasting life in God’s presence (vv. Psalms 16:9).
