It was something that Christians were talking about" (Reese p. 407). "Heard" The distance from Caesarea to Jerusalem is about 65 miles. We do not know how long Peter stayed in Caesarea (Acts 10:48), but apparently news traveled fast concerning the conversion of these Gentiles. "Received the word of God" "Welcomed the word of God" (Rhm). "Accepted" (Beck). Note that accepting the Word of God involves being baptized (Acts 10:48; Acts 2:41).
