Although usually the longer readings that involve the sacred names are suspect as scribal expansions, in the present case a majority of the Committee was of the opinion that the expression, “our Lord Jesus,” not being a customary liturgical formula, is probably to be attributed to Paul rather than to a copyist. Owing, however, to the balance in weight of the external evidence for and against the presence of h`mw/n, it was decided to enclose the pronoun within square brackets.
