The Bezan text, preferred by Ropes, reads kai. evge,neto evn tai/j h`me,raij evkei,naij tou/ sunplhrou/sqai th.n h`me,ran th/j penthkosth/j o;ntwn auvtw/n pa,ntwn evpi. to. auvto,( kai. eivdou. evge,neto, which means, he says, “And it came to pass in those days of the arrival of the day of pentecost that while they were all together behold there came,” etc. ⁶⁵ He explains the unusual Greek as the result of translation from Aramaic (compare Torrey’s suggestion that the original read aY"[;Wbv' ~l;v.mib.W “and when the Weeks were fulfilled”). ⁶⁶
