Of his parents [υ π ο τ ω ν π α τ ε ρ ω ν α υ τ ο υ]. Lit. by his fathers. Comp. Exodus 2:2. Paterev fathers, according to a late Greek usage, is employed like goneiv parents. Similarly the Lat. patres and soceri, including both parents, or father and mother in law.
