Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things; that is, who minister to the earthly tabernacle, which is but a type and shadow of the true tabernacle above where Christ ministers.

As Moses was admonished; Exodus 25:40.

According to the pattern showed to thee in the mount; apparently a representation made to Moses in vision of a glorious structure after which he was to model the earthly sanctuary with its furniture, the tabernacle seen in vision being itself a type of the true spiritual realities of heaven. Compare Ezekiel's vision of a city and temple, Chapter s Ezekiel 40:1-49; Ezekiel 41:1-26; Ezekiel 42:1-20; Ezekiel 43:1-27; Ezekiel 44:1-31; Ezekiel 45:1-25; Ezekiel 46:1-24; Ezekiel 47:1-23; Ezekiel 48:1-35, and John's vision of the new Jerusalem, in Revelation 21:1-27; Revelation 22:1-21.
