Verse Isaiah 61:8. _I HATE ROBBERY FOR BURNT-OFFERING_ - "Who hate rapine and iniquity"] The _Syriac_, and _Chaldee_ prefix the conjunction ו _vau_, instead of the preposition ב _beth_, to עולה _olah_, which they render _iniquity_ or _oppression_; and so the _Septuagint_, αδικιας. The difference lies in the punctuation; בעולה _beolah_, in a _burnt-offering_ בעולה beavelah, in _iniquity_. The _letters_ are the same in both words. The prophet now addresses the people directly. Men of other nations shall serve as labourers at their bidding and call them Yahweh's priests, or Servants of our God, recognising Yahweh as such. As a priestly caste they will enjoy the wealth of the peoples, as priestly tithe, and deck (so emend boast; _cf._ LXX) themselves in their splendours.
