The book referred to is often styled "The book of the kings of Israel" (2 Chronicles 20:34; 2 Chronicles 33:18); and it is more probable that that is the intended title here, and that the words should follow thus: AND JUDAH WERE CARRIED CAPTIVE TO BABYLON BECAUSE OF THEIR TRANSGRESSIONS.
