Although copyists not infrequently added “all” in order to heighten the account, a majority of the Committee was of the opinion that in the present instance the word is too widely supported in diverse textual traditions to be regarded as a scribal insertion, and interpreted its absence from several witnesses, chiefly Western (D* 424^c 1739* 1881 it^{d, 61} vg syr^p Ambrosiaster Ambrose Augustine Primasius), as the result of an oversight in transcription.
