Verse Exodus 10:29. _I WILL SEE THY FACE AGAIN NO MORE._] It is very likely that this was the last interview that Moses had with Pharaoh, for what is related, Exodus 11:4-2, might have been spoken on this very occasion, as it is very possible that God gave Moses to understand his purpose to slay the first-born, while before Pharaoh at this time; so, in all probability, the interview mentioned here was the last which Moses had with the Egyptian king. EXPOSITION THE NINTH PLAGUE. The ninth plague, like the third and the sixth, was inflicted without special warning. God had announced, after the plague of boils, that he was about to "send all his plagues upon the heart" of the king; and so a succession of inflictions was to be expected. The ninth plague probably followed the eighth after a very short interval. It is rightly regarded as an aggravation of a well-known natural phenomenon—the Khamsin, or "Wind of the Desert"_ _which commonly visits Egypt about the time of the vernal equinox, and is accompanied by an awful and weird darkness. And it does not appear that Moses ever came again before Pharaoh: for, as to what follows in the next chapter, Exodus 10:4; Exodus 10:8 that was most probably delivered now before he left Pharaoh's presence.
