The coverings are prepared to guard it from the injuries of the weather. They who dwell under the shadow of Jesus, the true Tabernacle, have such a covert, that no storms of wrath, or blasts of temptation, can ever hurt them. 3. The two vails are hung on their pillars to separate the holiest of all from the holy place, and the first tabernacle from the court of the congregation. The people then might not draw near; but now, by the body of Jesus, the vail is rent from the top to the bottom, and every true worshipper may approach the mercy-seat with boldness....

THE TEXT OF EXODUS TRANSLATION 36 And Be-zal-el and O-ho-li-ab shall work, and every wise-hearted man, in whom Je-ho-vah hath put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that Je-ho-vah hath commanded. (2) And Mo-ses called Be-zal-el and O-ho-li-ab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart Je-ho-vah had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it: (3) and they received of Mo-ses all the offering which the children of Is-ra-el had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, wherewith to make it. And they brought yet unto him freewill-offerings every morning. And every worker to whom the *LORD has given skill, should help them. They will know how to carry out all this special work. They will construct the special place where we will *worship the *LORD.’ V2 Then Moses asked Bezalel and Oholiab to come to him. He asked every person with skill to come with them. The *LORD had given skill to many workers and they all wanted to do this work for God.

(14-18) The construction of the outer covering of goats’ hair follows, and is expressed in terms nearly identical with those used in Exodus 26:7. Exodus 36:14 is better rendered than that to which it corresponds in the previous passage (Exodus 36:7). There are two omissions of short clauses for the sake of brevity....
